At Gorran Pre-School Hoglets we rely on a good relationship with parents and your support is vital for our continued growth.
We welcome your ideas and involvement and would love you to play an active role with your child's Pre-School.
There are many ways you can be involved:
In the everyday sense it is also greatly appreciated if, when dropping off your child, you ensure that you haven't parked in any bus bays or blocked any gates. Also, that you make sure that the School and Pre-School gates are kept closed behind you at all times – we endeavor to keep your children safe and secure at all times and need your help to achieve this.
Pre-School starts at 8.45am. This is when we register the children and it would help if everybody was on time, otherwise they may miss vital elements of the morning routine. Sitting nicely, putting names up on the wall, letters and sounds, signing, running through days of the week and looking at the weather all form an important part of the beginning of each session so it is beneficial to everyone that they start on time.
Starting at Pre-School can be daunting for some children, who may feel the anxiety of separation from their parents. If your child is having difficulties settling then please do speak to us about things we can put in place to help, (perhaps they could bring a favorite toy or comforter?), and feel free to stay for as long as is needed.
Each child is assigned a keyworker for the duration of their time with us, who parents are free to talk to at any time. We hold parent consultations throughout the year, where we can show you your child's learning journal (an app called tapestry) and discuss their progress or any concerns you may have.
